[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How exciting is it that events are back? Events are coming back, staff are getting back into the office, people are getting together in groups and the best part is that it is now safe to do so. We could not be more pleased.

Now that life is beginning to feel more normal again, you can plan fun activities for your teams to get them bonding, building trust, deepening relationships and just having some fun out of the house.

As a company that really observes Women’s Day, we have a few suggestions to help you to celebrate with your ladies leading up to and after the 9th of August, as the whole of August is considered Women’s month.

Profile Pic Photo Shoot

We have all been locked up for the last two years so there have not been events that create opportunities for great pics to be taken. Particularly for LinkedIn, that great pic of someone on a microphone for example. So why not get your ladies all spruced up and looking professional for some great headshots.  Alexander Smith is fantastic, he is a laugh a minute and he has a knack for making people look professional and apprachable. The plus is that staff can use these pics for LinkedIn, email signatures and more.

Support a Women’s Charity or Cause

This year we have partnered with Red Ruby Pads who are running a two-fold initiative, save the planet AND alleviate some pretty girl problems. There are many communities in South Africa where women and girls do not have the means to cater for their monthly cycle. Red Ruby Pads are turning re-usable masks into re-usable pads for these women. Gather the masks and we will collect them, or check out their Facebook page to find your nearest drop-off point, or get in touch with us on massage@sheerblisszen.co.uk to add to our bunch. We aim to get 1000 masks by the 9th of August!

Decorate

Decor always creates a festive feel. Balloons, streamers, confetti and some Woman Empowerment quotes here and there. Little motivational quotes on a mirror can really boost your mood and remind the ladies just how special and appreciated they are.

Tasty Treats

Choose from cupcakes to chocolates or cookies to add some fun to the office. We work with a great little company, find Wilhelm on @wills_tasty_treats on Instagram to check out his amazing creations. Unicorn biscuits are my personal favourite.

Self Defence Course

With all of the Gender-Based Violence going on, the most empowering feeling a woman can have is to be able to defend herself. Knowing what your choices are in a dangerous situation can save your life. Warren Ho of Defence Unlimited is outstanding! He will teach you what you are willing to fight, kill or die for. After our team did his course, they all said that they felt safer knowing that even putting up a hand in front of you and saying STOP can prevent someone from getting close enough to engage with you. What a game-changer.

Office Sparty

Naturally, massages and Women’s Day go together like peaches and cream. We have a variety of massages from our popular 6 Minute Moment Massage, our MEED Massage with virtual reality – which gives your team a virtual vacation at their desk, our nail bar, and a full My Spa to You setup. People have not had much human contact and apart from hugs, massages are definitely a great option to show your staff some appreciation.

Paint Workshop

No one thinks they can paint until they create a step-by-step masterpiece under the guidance of a professional. Taking home a souvenir art piece that you painted at work is just special, add gin or wine to get the conversation flowing too.

Make Your Own Gin

If you have a boozy office crowd, this outing is a great idea. R’new at Vaal has Dam Fine Distillery, where you can make your own gin with ingredients cultivated in their labyrinth on site. The venue is gorgeous and the service is excellent.

Learn About Your City

Even though I have lived in Johannesburg for my entire life, I am still learning about the history of our country. The Johannesburg Heritage Foundation offers tours at a very reasonable rate per head. Women’s Day is a South African holiday and dates back to the great women’s march of 1956. So this is a fitting time to learn more about our heritage and the history of South Africa and Johannesburg.

Dress It Forward

The Epic Foundation and their Fairy God Mother Project help high school teens to have the prom of their dreams. The much-anticipated matric dance is not all glitter and fun for those less fortunate. This foundation helps to make this night one to remember for many young students by providing them with an outfit for the night. Find their drop-off points here.

With so many choices available, there is no excuse to miss out on Women’s Day celebrations this year. However you choose to spend the day this year, we at Sheer Bliss wish you a very happy Women’s Day![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
