In 2023, Reach For A Dream became our designated charity of choice. We were deeply moved by the dedication of their volunteers and the remarkable work they do. Their mission, granting dreams to children battling terminal illnesses, encompasses a wide spectrum, from helicopter rides to celebrity encounters and stage performances.
Throughout the year, our team had the privilege of engaging with Reach For A Dream across their branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, as part of our Mandela Day initiative to support charitable causes. These visits to their offices always left us inspired, witnessing firsthand the magic they create.
Our CEO, Nadine Hocter, had the honor of accompanying the Reach For A Dream team in fulfilling a dream for a young man afflicted with Rickets and liver issues, whose simple wish was to go to the movies. It was a touching experience as Nadine connected with the young man’s mother, gaining insight into the challenges of caring for an ill child while coping with personal loss. Reach For A Dream shines a beacon of hope by bringing joy to such difficult circumstances.
Nadine also attended the Reach For A Dream Gala Dinner, where dreamers shared their inspiring stories and showcased their talents on stage. The event featured an art auction showcasing the remarkable creations of Mark Gregory, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation’s ongoing efforts. His book, “The Dreamers,” is available for purchase on the Reach For A Dream website, offering further support to their noble cause.
Our therapists also had the chance to inspire hope themselves when we helped a dream come true with a spa day in at Emperors Palace for a mother and her daughter fighting stage four cancer. The young lady was in a lot of pain and struggled to have too much touch on her body but being pampered did help her to feel better. Her mom sure needed that massage!
We wrapped up our year on a high note by contributing R25,000 to Reach for a Dream, filled with immense satisfaction as we pay it forward to the incredible beneficiaries we’re privileged to serve. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all our clients whose unwavering support makes this meaningful giving possible.
